the sole exception of fig. 9, is seen in the middle line below the (white) median nasal cartilage (= cartilaginous
septum of other Mammals) the vomer. On both sides of the cartilage (and the vomer) are situated the inter-
maxillaries; and again on the side of the intermaxillary and the vomer the maxillary. In fig. 14 on the right
side of the figure the section has also hit the anterior end of the jugal.
