There is apparently no difference in the relative position of the " Sylvian
Point" in the right and left hemispheres of the human brain. Twenty-eight
adult right hemispheres gave a fronto-Sylvian index of 32*7 ; whereas
twenty-five adult left hemispheres afforded an index of 32*8.
In the male, however, the " Sylvian Point" would appear to be placed
slightly in front of the same point in the female, and this is a distinction
which can be made out not only in the adult but also in the earlier stages.
