walls of the fissure, but always a distinct shallowing of the sulcus at this
level.

In five negro brains in my possession I find the deep annectant gyrus
at the level of the superior genu present in each hemisphere. Not only is
the condition more distinctly marked than in the European, but in one

In the chimpanzee this deep annectant gyrus appears to be commonly
present. The four hemispheres which I possess show it in a pronounced
form in each case. The orang brain likewise gives evidence of the same
